The foodprint of substrate

A substrate made from 100% renewable raw materials has a significantly better footprint than a substrate made from peat.
This may be one of the reasons why growers are switching to peat-free substrates.

However, it is important to realize that this transition is often more complex than expected. It requires continuous attention, from taking and analyzing soil samples to closely monitoring the crop.
Peat-free mixes generally dry out faster, buffer nutrients less effectively, and the pH can be less stable during cultivation.

That makes it challenging… but that very challenge makes it all the more rewarding when it succeeds. 💪🌿

At Plantanious and Persoon Potplanten, they have already mastered this “green” skill.
