Research into mixing various raw materials
Due to the use of more and more different raw materials, it is important to keep a good grip on the production of substrates. For example, light raw materials such as wood fiber and heavy raw materials such as green compost have different behavior in the substrate.
Mixing these raw materials has an effect on nutritional content and air content. And this can have consequences for your cultivation.
Hans Verhagen of RHP knowledge center for substrates is currently conducting a pilot study at our factory in the context of the RHP collective research program. To this end, production was closely monitored for three weeks in November, during which intensive measurements were made on all incoming raw materials and a large number of outgoing mixtures. In this research, RHP tests calculation models and examines where improvements can be made in the mixing process.
Because we increasingly use circular raw materials, this is very important for us as a company to continue to produce substrates in the future that perfectly suit our customers. Because that is what we stand for, making substrates that perfectly meet our customer's wishes.
