Peat-free substrate

Kwekerij Wesstein is a family-owned business specializing in the cultivation of 10.5cm Fuchsias for over 20 years. With a strong focus on Fuchsia cultivation, the entire company is dedicated to this particular plant. This specialization allows them to prioritize quality and efficiency in their operations.

Kwekerij Wesstein is continuously working on sustainability efforts. Earlier this year, they installed a second shading screen, and over 750 solar panels were installed at the end of last year.

"Now it was also time to start using a substrate with less peat. This way, we achieve two goals at once: helping the environment and having a unique selling point. Together with Bram van Paassen from BOL, we have developed two excellent blends and are conducting trials with substrates containing up to 50% circular raw materials. The results have been very positive," says Johnno Wesstein, co-owner of Kwekerij Wesstein.
